ECA Fat Burner Review

ECA is a fat burner that uses three specific ingredients: Ephedra (E), Caffeine (C), and Aspirin (A.) These ingredients were put together to promote fat burning effects. This supplement has actually proven to be very aggressive when it comes to at burning. Ephedra, in particular, is shrouded in a lot of scandals and is actually considered illegal to use in some countries.

The ECA manufacturer promises that the effects of ephedra should not be harmful so long as it is taken in moderation. However, this is something that one will have to consider before taking this fat burner supplement on a regular basis.

ECA Ingredients

There’s a lot to think about when considering the ingredients that make up the ECA fat burner supplement. There actually isn’t many ingredients, as mentioned previously, the letters of the name (ECA) stands for the ingredients that are used. However, these three ingredients are very aggressive, although whether it’s aggressive in a good or bad way is dependant on the dosages of the ingredients used in the making of it.

Ephedra Extract Leaves (Thermo Z © Brand)

There is a proprietary blend in the ECA formula, but despite that, the Ephedra ingredient has to be the most untrustworthy ingredient. As mentioned previously, there is a lot of talk surrounding the use of ephedra in dietary supplements. Many people have wondered as to why it is still being used despite of the numerous medical conditions that it may cause- due to it’s aggressive effectiveness.

How does it work?

There is a molecule inside of ephedra called ephedrine that is known to promote fat burning effects. It’s actually a lot like caffeine in that it’s been said to stimulate an individual’s muscles by providing extra boosts of energy and promoting thermogenic effects.

Not only that, but it’s been said to help increase a person’s metabolic rates as well. It’s popularly paired with caffeine and aspirin, to promote even more fat burning.

What are the side-effects?

This is the subject most people are concerned about when taking ephedra, and it should be said that it’s side effects are a large part of why it’s not being used in every fat burner supplement. Now, most of the side effects are induced when a person takes more than the recommended dose – or if they have pre-existing conditions that might be drastically affected by the sudden rise and fall of blood pressure levels.

It has been known to work, and it’s known to be very effective as a hyper stimulant. There have been many studies conducted on its effectiveness as a weight loss ingredient, and it’s been proven as a bonafide fat burner. One thing to note is that it tends to lose it’s effectiveness the more you take it. So it’s best for short-to-medium term use.

The recommended intake for Ephedra is very important – considering the danger that comes with taking too much. “Human studies have found success with ephedrine in isolation on fat metabolism with doses of 20-50mg thrice a day.” Which makes the amount of it in the ECA supplement safe – so long as you don’t take any more than three pills per day.

Caffeine Anhydrous

Caffeine is a very popular ingredient in fat burner supplements. It’s considered a very good stimulant, and can help fuel a person’s energy levels by stimulating their mind and bodies.

However, much like ephedra this is best used in the short term – as its effects are dulled over time. It also causes mild-dependency, which might result in pretty bad energy crashes that will have you feeling even worse than before.

Caffeine has also been proven to be most effective for lean people, with almost twice the level of fat burn compared to that of obese individuals. There are 200 milligrams of it per pill, which is on the lower side of the spectrum, but if taken 2-3 times a day it should be effective for regular caffeine users.

Proprietary Blend

Right away there is another ingredient in the ECA supplement that is bound to cause some concern.

Ease of shopping: Walgreens is a great choice as far as ease is concerned.

Methyl Synephrine HCI and Synephrine HCI are actually both extracted from the same type of plants- which is often referred to as Bitter Orange.

Bitter orange is a concern in the same way that Ephedra is, it’s another ingredient that has been banned in some countries due it’s aggressiveness and its possible side-effects. Again, despite this fact it’s still being used in many fat burner supplements.

Much like Ephedra, this shouldn’t be taken more than the recommended dose. Although the fact that ECA had included it in a proprietary blend makes ranging its effects very difficult. All we know is that there is 305 milligrams of the proprietary blend altogether, how much of that is bitter orange extract is unknown. As is the downside to most proprietary blends.

Where to buy ECA?

Because of the use of ephedra, this is not something that is acceptably sold in many countries. The US, specifically, had banned the sale of it since 2004.

Does it work?

It would be a lie to say that it doesn’t. Despite the known side-effects and dangers, Ephedra does work in the short-term. It’s level of effectiveness starts to wane over time – usually in a matter of months.

ECA Fat Burner Review Conclusion

Is this something I would recommend to anyone? Absolutely not. The reason ECA was given such a low-rating is because it is dangerous. It’s aggressively effective – and yes, in a bad way. There are many other fat burner supplements out there that should be able to give you similar results without having to put your health at risk.

ECA Stack: Ephedrine, Caffeine and Aspirin

This is an updated form of an article I first wrote years ago. I think you’ll find it informative, but please keep this in mind: I am not a doctor, pharmacist or medical expert. I am not qualified to give medical advice in any shape or form. The ECA stack is a potent stimulant that can be dangerous if abused, taken by someone who cannot tolerate it, or taken under the wrong circumstances.

The first time I ever heard about the ECA stack was back in my college years–the early 90’s. A new bodybuilding magazine called MuscleMedia 2000 came out around that time (published by Bill Phillips). The writers (and the people they interviewed) actually discussed steroids in a straightforward and honest way. I had never seen that before and found it quite refreshing (and surprising). Most of the bodybuilding magazines I read as a teenager gave me the idea that protein shakes were the secret ingredient to 18-inch arms. MuscleMedia 2000 was different: Someone was finally talking about the proverbial elephant in the living room.

One article mentioned a “dirt cheap” fat burner called the the ECA stack. I went out to a GNC and asked to buy ephedrine tablets.

Garcinia Cambogia, also known as Malabar Tamarind, is the popular tropical fruit mainly known for its weight loss properties.

No more food deprivation No more crazy rules No more confusing diets No more calorie counting Garcinia Max Success Stories "…I've tried other diet pills before but the pudge just wouldn't budge.

The lady behind the counter explained I could buy those at any nearby gas station (imagine that–buying “supplements” at your local convenience store).

I bought everything I needed within a few quick trips around town. I tried it and I was immediately impressed. It gave me a nice energy boost and, more importantly, annihilated my appetite. I also noticed that I tended to sweat just a little more (sweat is worthless as far as fat loss goes, but there’s definitely something to the thermogenic properties of the stack). Needless to say an increase in energy/focus and a decrease in appetite are both very helpful when you are trying to drop body fat.

This was around 1993, and most of the over-the-counter “fat burners” from health food stores were fairly worthless (just like today). But it didn’t take long for the supplement companies to jump on the bandwagon. Most of the major supplement brands produced some kind of supplement with ephedra (also called ma huang, the herbal form of ephedrine). But I always preferred the “home made” version because it seemed to be more potent and reliable.

Then there were a few highly publicized heat stroke deaths that were related to the use of these before-mentioned ephedra supplements. The FDA banned all of them, even though the research didn’t really back up their actions (caffeine and ephedrine seem to be well tolerated when used properly). 1

The 90’s ban didn’t affect ephedrine pills that I had always used for the stack. But other legal issues have come into play more recently (more on that a little later).

Let me give you a few simple facts about how this supplement works.

The way ECA works:

Ephedrine and caffeine are both central nervous system stimulants. Combining the two has a synergistic effect. In other words, the two chemicals work together to produce a greater effect than either one would by itself. 2 The results are:

*A decrease in appetite.

*The sparing of muscle tissue.

*Thermogenesis (the creation of heat, which burns additional calories).

The Dosage for the ECA Stack:

The dosage for the stack is 200 mg of caffeine+20 mg of ephedrine. Most ephedrine tablets are 25 mg, so that’s what I’ve always used.

Aspirin is supposed to weaken the body’s natural resistance to the stimulant effects. But I’ve never noticed much difference with or without aspirin, and people I’ve interacted with on forums say the same thing. Most of the research done with aspirin was with extremely obese subjects and probably doesn’t apply to those with less fat to lose. My advice would be to leave it out or to use “baby aspirin” if you insist on taking it (three full-dose aspirins a day are likely to cause gastrointestinal problems).

One other helpful ingredient I should mention is L-Tyrosine. Adding somewhere between 1-3 grams with each dose may help enhance the appetite suppression of the stack (especially if taken in a fasted state).

This dosage is taken 2-3 times a day (3x max). The dosages are spread out over 4-6 hours. I would not advise taking it too late (after 3-4 p.m.) as this is likely to give you insomnia.

Where You Can Get/Buy the Components:

As I mentioned, ephedrine used to be very easy to get. But it has gotten more expensive and more difficult to obtain–long gone are the days of grabbing a bottle or two a local convenience store. A few years back you could buy them online, but I’m not sure if that is possible now.

The cost of ephedrine has skyrocketed worldwide (I’m guessing it has something to do with the meth epidemic, since ephedrine or pseudoephedrine is a key ingredient).

” That sounds pretty promising from the world-renowned cardiac surgeon.

Here in the USA it seems each state has its own laws: some have no restrictions while buying/selling is completely banned in others (also related to the meth problem).

Anyway, here are the current options I’m aware of:

*You may want to look for Ephedrine HCL tablets at your local drug store. Primatene is one of the brand names I hear.

*Another option is Bronkaid. Bronkaid is Ephedrine Sulfate (not HCL), but most people seem to get comparable results from it.

Your local laws will determine whether or not you can buy either of these (or any other brand).

One word of caution: I’ve noticed that some of the old brands I used to buy have completely removed ephedrine from their formulas while keeping the brand name. The new formula is usually just caffeine with some “proprietary blend.” Read the labels carefully before you buy something online–some companies are using what I consider deceptive marketing practices.

Needless, to say, generic caffeine tablets and aspirin are available anywhere (kind of ironic, considering how much more dangerous aspirin is).

More Information/FAQ

Will I get lean and ripped just from taking this supplement?

Of course not! Most of this drug’s effectiveness comes from the fact that it destroys your appetite. It does help you metabolically, but this is not a “magic bullet.” If you eat more calories than you use, you won’t lose weight. All fat loss is ultimately based on a negative calorie balance.

Once again I need to remind you of something: I’m not a doctor, pharmacist or medical profession. Please talk to your doctor before trying any kind of stimulant.

Needless to say, those with heart problems, thyroid problems, high blood pressure, or those who are pregnant definitely need to stay away from the ECA stack unless your doctor tells you otherwise. There may be other medical conditions which make it unsafe–I’m just naming a few that come to mind.

I would also advice you not to take the EC stack if you are outside all the time during summer months or in hot environments. Remember–this is a thermogenic supplement. I believe the deaths in the 90’s were caused by people taking it and overheating without realizing it. I would not advise you to take any form of ephedra if you are doing some kind of summer training camp, for example.

Recovering addicts should stay away from the stack as it will reactivate their addiction.

If you want to try this I’d recommend you start off with a half dose (100 mg of caffeine and 10 mg of ephedrine) to see how well you tolerate it. Individual tolerance to stimulants varies greatly from person to person, so be careful.

I’ve used the ECA stack as a pre-workout supplement due to the before-mentioned energy boost. Other athletes and bodybuilders have done the same. Just keep in mind that ephedrine is going to be on the list of banned substances in virtually any type of athletic federation. You also have to remember that taking it before a late-night training session will result in insomnia (back to the timing thing).

Do NOT take ephedrine or ephedra and yohimbine at the same time. Do not take any supplement that contains both products. The problem is ephedra/ephedrine works by stimulating beta-receptor sites, and yohimbine works by suppressing alpha-receptor sites. Your heart has both types of receptor sites, so taking both compounds at the same time could be very dangerous (increasing blood pressure, etc). This is one reason I can’t recommend any of the ephedra diet pills I see online–most of them add yohimbine into the mix.

Yohimbine is effective, but you have to know how and when to take it (see: Yohimbine HCL).

No fat loss supplement will “work” unless your diet and exercise plan is in order.

This drug is also promoted to parents as a treatment for children with pain or fever and is often given frequently over several days.

Here are a few guides I can recommend if you want to lose fat.

The 4 Week Diet would be good for those who want to do a “crash diet”: those who want to drop weight as quickly as possible.

History and Overview

ECA stack is among the most powerful energy-enhancing and fat burning stacks. It comprises Ephedrine, Caffeine and Aspirin as its main ingredients forming the acronym ECA UK. Ephedrine that is probably the least popular among the three is one of the four active components of an extract of the Ephedra plant also referred to as Ma Huang in Chinese.

The Ephedra has over 50 species spread out all over the world and is well adapted to arid and semi-arid conditions. It has been used for centuries in China and is reputed to have anti-asthmatic and decongestant effects. In recent times, however, it has gained popular use as a fat burner and performance aid owing to its stimulatory and sympathomimetic effects. It is used hand in hand with Caffeine and Aspirin for best results. However, persons who are allergic to Aspirin use Ephedrine with Caffeine only in what is popularly known as the EC stack.

What results can I expect?

When used as prescribed, ECA tablets are guaranteed to give the most astounding and satisfactory results anyone can ever hope for. They are undeniably effective and speed up the fat burning process quite significantly hence one is bound to cut a lot quicker. One will also experience an increased metabolic rate and increased adrenaline levels. Adrenaline levels go up due to Caffeine, and consequently one experiences a decreased appetite. You may also experience increased focus and concentration that is as a result of the stimulating effects of Ephedrine.

Aspirin causes blood to thin and should not be taken in amounts exceeding the required dose at any given time. ECA UK results are best achieved when the drugs are combined with a healthy hypo caloric diet and plenty of exercise. In unique cases, the ECA fat burner has been found to give some people the boost needed to grow and lift heavier weights. This is attributed to stimulation of the nervous system.

How it works

Ephedrine, one of the constituents of the ECA fat burner is primarily responsible for fat burning and energy enhancing. It stimulates the production of norepinephrine and circulates it in the adipose tissue and consequently increasing cAMP levels. Despite being very efficient on its own, it displays better results when used together with Caffeine. The entire ECA UK is designed to target specific fat cells that are then burnt for energy and lead to a raised metabolic rate. Caffeine and Aspirin are responsible for preventing the body from inhibiting the production of cAMP thus prolonging the fat burning effects of Ephedrine.

Ephedrine has a very short half-life of about 3-6 hours hence it needs to be taken at frequent intervals for one to sustain its effects in the body. For optimum effects, many people prefer to take half doses in three-hour intervals as opposed to full doses at six-hour intervals.

How it is used and dosed

It is highly recommended that one consults their doctor before they begin taking the ECA tablets. This is to avoid complications that may arise in case one is allergic for example, to Aspirin, and to ascertain that they are fit to take the drugs. Ephedrine can be obtained as Ephedrine sulphate or Ephedrine HCL where Ephedrine sulphate is purer but either will suffice.

The ECA stack dosage comprises 20-25mg Ephedrine, 200mg Caffeine and a baby Aspirin.

It also works as a fat-burner especially for the belly, thighs, and buttocks.

It should be taken up to thrice daily and no more than four times in a day. When starting, one should take a dose daily and increase gradually every two to four days until they have reached the full amount. The first dose is to be taken immediately after waking up and subsequent ones on an empty stomach. Taking any dose too close to bedtime could interfere with one’s sleep.

In order to reap the most benefits from the ECA stack dosage, it is advised that the stack be cycled for six weeks followed by a two-week break from it. It is also only necessary to be administered during workout days if one aims at benefitting from its energy enhancing capabilities only. The stack is unique as it does not require loading and one can terminate its use at will. This, however, calls for a strict observance of one’s diet since discontinuing the use of the ECA fat burner will lead to a slower metabolism and hence weight gain.

ECA Stack Side Effects

Perhaps the most annoying of the effects of the ECA fat burner is that besides cutting down on your weight, it will also take away your hard earned muscle. This could nevertheless be easily countered by supplementing with protein throughout the day. One may also experience a lack of appetite, a side effect of taking Caffeine that also slows down digestion due to the secretion of adrenalin.

Another notable effect is that it might increase your heart rate and as a result probably even hinder your workout from running to completion. Other effects that have been reported include feeling jittery, experiencing abnormal sweaty episodes and headaches for some people. Beginners might also experience increased blood pressure because of the Caffeine. It should be strictly observed that the intake of ECA UK does not exceed the prescribed dose as this would result in worse side effects.

Can this stack damage the heart and other organs?

When taken in excessive amounts, ECA stack can be lethal. One should listen to their heart rate consistently as cases of increased heart rate have been reported in the past. Excessive amounts of Ephedrine have also been reported to cause heart attacks. An increase in blood cholesterol may also be observed, but this is only a mild side effect.

Will it make me aggressive?

No, it will not. ECA stack comprises components that will in no manner affect a person’s decision-making process and emotional well-being. One will, therefore, be entirely responsible for any aggressive behaviour they may display while using the drugs.

Is it legal to buy ECA Stack UK?

Generally, the use of Ephedrine is highly controlled, and only patients who are in dire need of the drug will be found in possession of it. Promotion of Ephedrine containing weight loss supplements was banned in the United States and Canada due to reports of heart attacks, strokes, and death that were associated with this drug. However, Ephedrine on its own is still available over the counter and can be obtained with much ease. Users are still advised not to be in possession of ridiculous amounts of the drug.

It is quite unclear just how legal it is in the UK. It is wise to note however that Ephedrine HCL isn’t a controlled substance and possessing it doesn’t pose much of a threat. However, having large quantities of the drug could land you in trouble because under the medicine act it is illegal and it may be assumed that you are distributing it.
