Garcinia cambogia max slim does it work
A close cousin to another famous superfood, the mangosteen, it shows great promise in being one of the best ingredients for weight loss supplements.
Should you sign up for the Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim trial?
Sales of Garcinia Cambogia supplements are continuing to grow, unfortunately so are the complaints from people who feel as though they have been ripped off.
Often supplements will be made available on a trial that once signed up to will lead to future extortionate charges being made to your account.
Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim is offered as a trial, but does that automatically mean that you should avoid signing up?
Let us look at this supplement in more detail before we come to any conclusion.
Claims made by Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim
The following claims have been made on the Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim website:
These claims are what you would expect to see on a Garcinia Cambogia supplement.
We would need to look at what ingredients are found in the formula before we can comment on whether we believe them.
Ingredients of Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim
Each serving of Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim is claimed to contain 500 mg of Garcinia Cambogia, which is a little low.
However, when you read the ingredients page on the website this claim is not quite accurate as it states that each serving contains a proprietary blend of 450 mg of Garcinia Cambogia extract, Calcium and Potassium.
This is disappointing and means that the claimed benefits of Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim are unlikely to be true.
Price of Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim
The biggest issue with Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim is its price as the trial will cost £9.95, although this is for a 28 day period, which at least gives you a little more time than a normal trial to try out the supplement.
If you do not cancel within this time you will be charged £89.84, which is a quite ridiculous price.
You can also buy Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim individually, although this is even more expensive as each bottle will cost £129.93.
Is Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim a scam?
Although Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim have covered their sales tactics in their terms and conditions the lies about the ingredients and extortionate cost of the supplement leads us to one conclusion.
Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim should be avoided, do not sign up for the trial as you will likely be disappointed.
How to contact Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim?

I was not aware that after the 28day trial that i would be charged $104 NZ dollars..if i did not cancel. RIP OFF SCAM IF U ASK ME. currently in the process of cancelling authorisation on my VISA.
Definite scam. Charged me twice for each initially, then went to $113 each next month, then $124 each.
I signed up for the “FREE TRIAL” offer (just pay shipping)… Got billed for $167.00, then they auto shipped the next month right after. Total charged to my CC was $330.50! I called and asked to return the UNOPENED product, they told me it was going to take up to twelve weeks and there would be a $20 EACH restocking fee… Or, I can keep the product (which didn’t work anyway) and be credited $120.00. But, NO CREDIT for the “FREE TRIAL” bc it was opened. UMMM. How to you TRY a product without opening it. PLEASE… DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR SCAM.
I was not aware that to sign up for a trial would mean that they would keep sending me this stuff.
How do I cancel this.
How do I cancel and/or get a refund? Unaware of the shady advertising and deception! Thank you!
hi do you know how can i cancel this product, i was charged too and i dont know how to cancel this shit….. is second time that i was charged without any advice, any help will be awesome. thanks!
Hi Alex just call the number I am about to give you and you can cancel your order I did. They took the money out of my account before I even got the trial just call 02 8015 2426 between 8am and 12am monday to Friday and 6 till 6pm Saturday this is their customer service for Australia
The phone giving to me from bank is 8882495205..the record.that I spoke with from bank told me she used to work in the frauds division. She sees is alot and says she deals with that more than you would think. First of all if it’s a free trial you should probably run that it is always set up to keep sending products. But if you still want to try products as soon as you receive it.Cancel Cancel product as soon as you get it yes I’m saying even before you try it. And then if it works than you can always call Company and reorder.. But whenever you order something that you’ve never tried Google it first and really read the terms and conditions. The trial site never gives you the details of reviews, that why to need to Google the product. And then read more than one review.. I’ve been scammed before but luckily my bank stepped in it took ,10 wks. But the. Money was put back in my account. If you want to get results they talk about buy the supplement Garcinia supplement separately just make sure it is standardized. If you don’t standardized insures you are getting the real deal. GOD Bless
If you guys don’t get anywhere have your bank ship you a new card, let them know what happened and tell them you didn’t authorize these charges, most banks will back you up. If they don’t you should change banks too.
So I thought it was a steal, one months trial for the postage price, no strings attached…. no check my bank today and 108.30 is missing gone to these guys. Call my bank to cancel the payment get it reversed etc, no sorry cant do that, but they can cancel my card… great fun. Oh and apparently they had tried to access my funds on three seperate days, but failed as I only keep 100 in that account, unless ive been paied and thats how It happend, I read the fine print etc, there was nothing about a automatic payment going straight out each month, it was just pay for the trial products postage
Where on the advert does it say they will charge you £89.94 after the trial bottle has been sent out? I have checked my bank account and they have taken money I did not authorise but as its a debit card I will undoubtedly not get my money back. I haven’t even used the tablets. I will be on to the bank first thing tomorrow so the scheming cheating liars cannot get anymore money out of me
How it works: Garcinia Max Slim is a 28-day risk-free trial offer (*14 days if they are in the UK). Customers begin by placing their order for the Garcinia Max Slim, only paying shipping and handling ($9.95) and they would have 28 days (*14 days if they are in the UK) from that date to call if they are not satisfied with the 30-day supply (90 Capsules) of product. If customers go beyond the trial they then purchase the 30 day supply (90 Capsules) they received for the price of $89.84 and are enrolled into the auto-shipment program for a 30 day supply (90 Capsules) which costs $89.84 plus $9.95 S/H every 30 days.
Nature’s Pure Cleanse is a 30-day risk-free trial offer (*18 days if they are in the UK).
La publicidad luce fantástica y aparentemente ofrecen muestras gratuitas; la realidad es que la compañía carga en las cuentas de los clientes pagos recurrentes por productos que nunca ordenaron específicamente y que quizás ni siquiera necesiten.

What a have! Its not clear so it is intentional theft!
so what you do to get your money back because all this information didnt come with the product
I’m sorry, but it CLEARLY states when and how much you will be charged, if people would actually read the terms and conditions.
This is how they make so much money, because people don’t read and then bitch about getting charged.
I suggest that next time you read the terms and conditions I its entirety
I have also been scamed. Sighned up for trail and then was charge another $97.14 these funds were not autherised
There is no email to dispute this only a Uk phone which does not answer
DO NOT GET THIS TRAIL IT IS A SCAM
if anyone knows the email so i can contact them to get my money back please let me know
Well I WAS considering getting me a free trial of these but after all the comments I’ve been reading, the makers of this stuff can shove it up their rear. Does it even work is my thought! !!
Hi there, i signed up to the free trial and then saw all this here. I phoned them up two days ago and spoke to a lovely lady in USA and i explained the situation over here and that we are lead to believe this is a scam. I said to her that i did not want to purchase another bottle at the end of my 28day trial, which for those that dont know, the 28day trial is from the day you order it, not when you receive it in the mail. So when i phoned she said i only had 18 days left before phoning them and asking not to be billed for anymore, Once she realised i had only received the product the day before phoning, she extended my trial til 31st December which allows me plenty of time to try the product and then cancel it which i will as i would rather pay $29.95 from the chemist and get it than over $100 online. I am satisfied that this will work out ok as ive phoned already and i will be phoning them a week before xmas as i dont want to get caught out in the xmas rush and not get through to cancel the next payment. The reviews are right the HCA is only 50% where most brands are up to 80% which is stronger and may have more affect and the blend is only 450mg instead of the advertised 500mg. So ive been on these for a few days now and have noticed a slight difference in the amount im eating mainly lunch and dinner time which is at least something, will try the next cple weeks and if not really working will consider a higher dose brand from our shops here in NZ, Definitely read everything before you buy
hi, so how should I cancel it?
Can anyone tell me what to do now? I’m in Ireland as a foreigner now and have just ordered the stuff! I have received it yesterday and have had no Chance to check on my bank account. How can I Access their page again to reread the contract? Pls. help – whoever knows what to do. Thanks in advance
You cant, i tried, you have to phone them and talk to them about it, they will just tell you to phone before the trial period is up, make sure you tell them when you received as they count the shipping time into your trial thats how they make the money, the trial ends about 10 days before you finish the product so you miss the cut off time to call and cancel the next batch.
So I’m back: I have cancelled my credit-card, so noone will be able to withdraw Money from my account by the number I gave them. Luckily the only withdrawal to date was the postage. So that is hopefully settled.
This company is an absolute disgrace they pray on venerable people . I ordered free trial in good faith and I check my account today and they have deducted 113.00 and another 111.00 Euro I called my bank they advised me it was this company tried ringing them several times to no avail no one answers the phone cant even find an e-mail address for them. My bank can not cancel subscription for me so what do I do. I am disgusted they have left me with no money for the week.
You cancel your bank card that you used to order and request for a new bank card OK then you call to the bank service for fraud and they will trace your money for you.
I didn’t realise that there was any of these extra charges. I signed up 6 months ago for a trial and found I was sent another 3 bottles. However, I had no charged show up on my online bank statements whatsoever, just times where $50-$100 would be missing and I couldn’t account for no matter how many times I went over my spending very carefully. I am very unimpressed. I have sent an email, but if this doesn’t work. What have others done to stop this scam?
You have to cancel your bank card that used for your order then the bank will issue you with a new one, then ring your bank service for fraud so they can trace it for you.
I placed an order in September, order # 1013055 and I have not yet received my order, as I was told that the shipment will be by Sept 27 2014. I need to know when the shipment of this order arrives.
Awaiting for the product to arrive.
Andrew, you will need to contact them yourself. This website has nothing to do with Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim, this is purely a review.
get their number from the website and cancel this is a total ripoff I sent for the free trial actually cost $22 then I found that $107 had been deducted from my Account free trial my a…e. I have changed my bank account number and the bank reckon they will help get my money back. I tried to email twice and both emails did not go through they also charge in American dollars which seems strange for a company that is in the UK
Hi signed up for the free product they said I just have to pay postage but it is a scam. They sent me an email that talked about future payments so i cancelled as I only signed up for the free bottle then they sent me an email saying I had to return the bottle to the United States. I sent back an email saying it was supposed to be free. Don’t sign up its a scam!
Went for the FREE 1 month trial for what I thought would involve just the price of postage and processing believing I could try it and if it worked order more.
After it arrived I saw various posts online saying what a scam it was. Looked back at the website I ordered it from and was able to finally see that the Free Trial wasn’t really free and you had to cancel your subscription to avoid outrageous charges (didn’t realize I had a subscription!).
Cancelled immediately and then had an email saying I had to send back what they had sent me and that I would not be refunded the original postage and processing fees or my return postage.
Phoned them and really kicked up a fuss and in the end they cancelled my subscription without my having to send back what they had sent.
Took the added precaution of having my bank refuse any future payments to this company.
What they are doing is technically legal but highly misleading and I’m not someone who is easily taken in but I was this time.
What was the number that you rang?
How it works isn’t fully known, but those studies seem to indicate it increases levels of serotonin in the brain.
The hydroxicitric acid (HCA) content of our pure Garcinia Cambogia is 60%, which many other products are not able to match.
The same as happened to me! How do you cancel it? Thanks
I ordered a free trial and it came but a week later some money has been taken out of my account and I haven’t ordered anything. How do I get my money back?
VERY NASTY PEOPLE PRAYING ON INNOCENT VICTIMS!
PRODUCT IS BOGUS ANYWAY
I recently ordered the product. I read the fine print. I was aware that I only pay postage then monthly starting from purchase date I am debited an amount that pays for the first product plus the next one. The invoice says how much it is plus postage. You only take the product for 2 wks (amount in bottle), rest and start again with next order. Personally prefer the slower weight loss at 60 hca then 80 hca. on the invoice there are other ways to contact them besides phone. So either I am on a genuine one or you need to read the fine print to know what you are in for 😉
I agree with you amy (as per your comment dated 22 Nov 2014 at 9:06pm) … I was careful to read everything and it DID explain about the cost of the trial period plus afterward if you don’t cancel by the end of the trial period that the full amount would be Debited from your Credit Card. I even rang them to also double check dates, got the name of the person who I was talking to (for future reference just incase), even asked for an extension on my trial period (seeing postage for trial period products took nearly a month to arrive to me in Australia), and they extended my trial period so I get the full benefit of trying out this for 1 whole month (both Garcinia Cambogia + Nature’s Pure Cleanse) … they have locked in a permanent discount for me at 50% if after the trial period that I choose to continue. They explained exactly which date would be safe to ring “IF” I choose to cancel before my 50% discounted amount would be Debited, and which date they would do the Debit “IF” I choose to continue with it. They were gracious to work around my monthly pay day so it fits in with my pay schedule…. All I have to do now is see if this product works for my body type. I think if people carefully read and do their homework before assuming or rushing into things, even ring first and get someone to fully explain also, then others won’t have to jump to conclusions that everything in life is always a scam or a rip off or an injustice 😀
I ordered my trial knowing that I only pay postage then $89.95 after 30 days but they still scammed me. Here’s how.. I got an email a couple of days after I ordered this product saying that my order has been cancelled. I didn’t cancel anything! They said I sent an email doing so but that’s bull crap! The thing is you can’t refund your trial after it’s been cancelled. They scammed me!
I didnt even get an invoice with my free trial. i was worried after i placed the order that i cancelled my credit card immediately. I actually wasnt expecting to get the product but i did. Always thought this was too good to be true
stop taking money from my account I only ordered once on the 5th of the 11th at $6.00 a bottle now there is two more bottles on the 2nd and 4th of 12th at $100 a bottle

Hi stasia just call their customer service and demand they put your money back I did and within 2 days they money was put back in my account and I cancelled my order the number for Australia is 02. 8015 2426
This is a rip of. I got charged $114.70 for goods I never received after the FREE TRAIL which is 3 times more than I can buy the same or a better product in the shop retail. As far as getting my money back it is a drama this company is a fraud and should be kept well away from .
I had 122 taken out of my account and 127 taken out every months your every 2 weeks.this is so rip off.
I seen the ad for the trial on Facebook and started filling out the forms the changed my mind when got to the part with giving card details. I should have gone with gut instinct as then got a call from a lovely man explaining it’s just a trial and I only pay the freight so I went ahead and gave my details. Since then I have been charged 4 more times totalling over $500. I tried tracking down a number to call and the computer voice said welcome to garcinia blah blah blah so was right place but women went on to tell me she didn’t know what product I was talking about and there was no record of me as a customer….well liars as they are taking my money. So I sent an email instead and went to the bank the next day to change bank account. Sneaky buggers obviously got my email as they tried to process another payment. Lady at bank told me I wouldn’t get my money back but the man I just spoke to on the phone for my bank said he’s put in a dispute for and I should get my money back. Don’t do trials. What a headache
I recently bought the trial and just today I have checked my account, there have been three transaction for over $100 within a week. I’m so angry, I definitely did not read anywhere, that money would be taken without authorization. I even remember unchecking subscription boxes.
This is an absolute scam. It’s passed the 28 days so there is no way to get my money back. Tried calling and emailing and no response.
Even if I did sign up for it, why would I need 3 times the amount for one month?! Had to cancel my card, bank won’t do anything, account overdrawn and left with no money left for the week. Everyone needs to go to fair trading .
This product is a total scam. Every customer service agent I talked to was very rude. They interrupt you and call you a liar. They hang up on you because they don’t understand English and try to bully you on the phone. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Please don’t waste your time or money.
Do you have an address that the tablets can be returned to or an email or telephone number.
My credit card company is now blocking this company.
Please stop delivery of this supplement. I have instructed my bank to refuse any further payments to this company.
This page is a review. We do not endorse trial offers. Have you tried the contact details provided above?
This ABSOLUTELY a scam. The information on their ad is totally misleading. They state they will give you 14 days to test the product. You must contact them to cancel or be bill. When in fact they delay shipment until you only have one to two days to cancel. The shipment arrives without an invoice or any contact information. It is impossible to contact them. They do not provide any contact information and then charge you when you do not contact them within a specific time frame that is deceptively disclosed in very small print in the statement about a totally separate product.
Garcinia cambogia will make your body burn more calories by improving your bodily functions for a greater fat burn.
The only way to obtain a contact number is after they have fraudulently charged your account approximately $89.00. When I called to dispute the charge, the hold wait was over 20 minutes. The representative who finally answered is unable to do anything but read from a script. They state they must transfer you to a supervisor that apparently does not exist. After remaining on hold again for over 15 minutes, they post a recording that you may remain on hold for the next available supervisor or press 2 to leave a message for a call back in your same queue order. If you continue to wait, a second recording advises you to push 1 to leave such a message. If you do not push 1, you call is immediately transferred to a message that states you have called after business hours and are forced to leave a message. I call at 1130 AM which is definitely during business hours on either US coast. NO ONE EVER CALLS. it is an obvious scam and intent to defraud. Their actions violate the Fair Trade Act regulations against deceptive trade practices. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. THIS IS 100% A SCAM AND THE PRODUCT DOES NOT WORKS. NOTHING BUT SNAKE OIL IN POWDERED FIRM.
I have contacted this merchant multiple times with the same result. They refuse to issue a refund and will not provide a confirmation number for cancellation. Which leaves them open to continue charging you each month. Nor will your bank take any action against them because you provided the merchant with your debit card information. By all accounts, your only option to prevent them from continuing to charge your account is to cancel your debit card at your bank. A TOTAL SCAM and POITA.
Garcinia Cambogia – Hydroxycitric Acid Extract For Weight Loss?
Up until October 28th, 2012, few people around the world knew about ‘garcinia cambogia' and would have lost first round of a national spelling bee if asked what it was. But thankfully there is always hope for tomorrow, and for garcinia, the future would get much brighter.
Remembering the day so clearly, being October 29, 2012 – when Doctor OZ's Garcinia Cambogia extract episode airing for no more than 6 minutes became a world-wide sensation and phenom in a matter of New-York marketing minutes – fast forward from Oct 28 to Oct 29 to 2017; this is our assembled garcinia story of facts, figures and semi-unfortunate fallacies surrounding the most popular diet pill, phrase and product ever created…
Origins Of Garcinia (Malabar Tamarind/Gummi-Gutta)
Garcinia Cambogia is one of the most controversial dietary nutrition supplements in the world today. Some people swear a pure extract of Garcinia Cambogia is an extremely effective weight loss tool and appetite suppressant – and others, not so much reporting negative side effects galore like dry mouth, dizziness, toxicity and stomach aches – but for us, no matter where on the scale of effectiveness and results, it was only the start of the surface level conversation as most of hard to swallow at face value heresay is based on a 5 to 6 minute video clip produced by Dr Oz TV Show (much like forskolin).
So what’s the real one-size-fits-all truth about Garcinia Cambogia HCA extract and its potential weight loss qualities? What does science have to say about this unique malabar tamarind tropical plant?
Today, we’re going to round up every updated 2016 and 2017 credible medical science resource we can find has to say about the facts vs fiction of garcinia cambogia extract for weight loss and natural appetite suppressant.
What is Garcinia Cambogia?
Although the term “Garcinia cambogia” is no longer used by the scientific community, it’s the primary term used by the nutritional supplement community. Other names for this fruit include brindleberry, Malabar tamarind, and kudam puli.
The Garcinia cambogia fruit itself looks like a small pumpkin. It typically features a greenish, pale yellow color and has wrinkled, grooved skin. In terms of size, it’s somewhere between an orange and grapefruit.
Today, Garcinia cambogia is grown for its fruit in tropical climates around the world, including Southeast Asia, south India, and west and central Africa. That fruit is used in cooking and is especially popular in curries.
History of Garcinia Cambogia
Garcinia cambogia is a relatively new trend in the dietary supplement community. However, it’s been well-known in the traditional medicine community for quite some time.
For thousands of years, Garcinia cambogia remained relatively unknown. But in 2012, the trajectory of Garcinia cambogia changed forever when world-famous TV personality Dr. Oz claimed that Garcinia cambogia could be used for natural weight loss with “no diet or exercise” required.
Since 2012, a number of scientific reports have been published examining the effectiveness of Garcinia cambogia and its rumored health benefits.
The weight loss claims of Garcinia cambogia have faced a lot of criticism, and we’ll take a look at the rumored weight loss benefits of Garcinia cambogia below.
Health Benefits of Garcinia Cambogia
Those who support Garcinia cambogia claim that it has been linked to a number of powerful health benefits.
Now, there are two different types of health benefits of Garcinia cambogia.
However, many of the weight loss benefits of Garcinia cambogia are said to come from the rind of the fruit, which contains a compound called hydroxycitric acid (HCA).
Ultimately, the rumored health benefits of garcinia cambogia include:
- Weight Loss
- Appetite Suppression
- Reduced Risk Of Heart Disease And Better Cardiovascular Health
- Reduced Risk Of Diabetes
- Reduced Fat Buildup And Reduced Abdominal Fat
- Better Metabolism
- Reduced Risk Of Ulcers
- Healthier Digestion
These are the rumored health benefits of Garcinia cambogia. Below, we’ll see if any of those health benefits come with real scientific evidence.
Scientific Evidence for Garcinia Cambogia
Garcinia cambogia hasn’t been extensively studied. However, the studies on Garcinia cambogia that have been published have demonstrated mixed results. Instead of telling you whether or not Garcinia cambogia works, I’m going to summarize the scientific studies on Garcinia cambogia below:
In 1998, a study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. This study was published in response to a flurry of promising reports on HCA, the active ingredient in Garcinia cambogia.
Unfortunately for HCA supporters, the 1998 study showed that “Garcinia cambogia failed to produce significant weight loss and fat mass loss beyond that observed with placebo.” 1
The study took place over 12 weeks and involved a total of 135 subjects. Some of the subjects took HCA, while others took a placebo. By the end of the 12 week period, the HCA group had not exhibited a statistically significant difference in terms of percentage body fat loss or weight loss.
Some thought this would be the end of HCA as a dietary supplement. But other studies have offered conflicting results.
Criticisms Of This Study
One of the main criticisms of this study comes from Harry Preuss, a researcher at Georgetown University who claims that the JAMA study “used whatever the dose was at the time, and they never mentioned the type of citrate they used.” In other words, they may have been using the wrong HCA.
Additionally, others have criticized this study for its heavy use of dietary fiber.
33 A similar study in rats found activity against indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers.
Dietary fiber is thought to interfere with HCA, which could have inhibited weight loss in the HCA group.
In 2003, Japanese researchers published a study in Fitoterapia. This study examined the effects of Garcinia cambogia extract on mice over a period of 4 weeks.
The research concluded by stating that treatment “was found to have no effect on body weight, fat pad weight, or serum glucose level.”
However, Garcinia cambogia was shown to have other physiological effects. Treated mice displayed lower levels of serum insulin and leptin, for example, as well as a lower ratio of leptin/WAT.
This led researchers to conclude that “G. cambogia extract efficiently improved glucose metabolism and displayed leptin-like activity.”
Dr. Preuss, the guy we just motioned above, decided to lead his own study on HCA. Dr. Preuss’s study involved 30 “healthy but overweight people” between the ages of 21 and 50. The study took place over an 8 week period. 2
Dr. Preuss and his team found some surprising results. All of the subjects were told to consume a diet of 2,000 calories per day and walked for half an hour five days per week.
One group was given Super CitriMax, a patented form of HCA bound with calcium and potassium. The other group was given a placebo.
By the end of the 8 week period, the placebo group had lost an average of 3 pounds. However, the HCA group had lost an average of 12 pounds – a 400% difference.
Additionally, the HCA group saw their BMI fall by an average of 6.3% compared to the placebo group’s average of 1.7%.
Another interesting effect of the study was that the HCA group saw their serotonin levels double compared to the placebo group. Additionally, the HCA group had a 16% reduction in the amount of food they ate per meal, compared to no change with the placebo group.
Like all good researchers, Dr. Preuss tried to replicate his results in a follow-up study. That follow-up study involved more subjects (60 people in total, double the original study) and came to similar conclusions.
In this study, the HCA group lost an average of 10.5 pounds compared to the placebo group, which lost an average of 3.5 pounds.
Once again, in this study, the placebo group had no change in appetite, but the HCA group reported a 16% reduction in the amount of food consumed per meal.
Dr. Preuss also has his name attached to a 2005 research report on Garcinia cambogia and hydroxycitric acid. This time, Dr. Preuss collaborated with five other doctors to discuss the powerful health benefits of HCA. 3
Specifically, researchers demonstrated that HCA was much more effective when bound to certain other compounds. Naturally, HCA is bound to calcium, which reduces its bioavailability. Calcium is found naturally in Garcinia cambogia. So if you were to just eat the rind of Garcinia cambogia fruit, you would be eating HCA bound to calcium.
But when HCA is bound to salt, it makes the compound water-soluble, increasing its bioavailability. This compound is called HCA-SX, also known by its trademarked name, Super CitriMax.
When taken in the form of HCA-SX, this compound was shown to “increase serotonin availability, reduce appetite, increase fat oxidation, improve blood lipid levels, reduce body weight, and modulate a number of obesity regulatory genes without affecting the mitochondrial and nuclear proteins required for normal biochemical and physiological functions.”
In other words, this report demonstrated HCA had all of the powerful weight loss benefits it was rumored to have – with no major side effects. You just had to bind the compound to salt.
We can make a few broad conclusions about Garcinia cambogia from the studies listed above.
— First, we can conclude that hydroxycitric acid (HCA) is the most active ingredient within Garcinia cambogia and the one most intimately connected with weight loss.
Yes, there are other ingredients in Garcinia cambogia, including calcium, phosphorus, iron, and thiamine, but none of these ingredients are available in high enough doses to compete with the benefits provided by HCA.
— Second, we can conclude that HCA is not very effective when taken on its own. HCA is naturally bound to the calcium within Garcinia cambogia. This reduces bioavailability by at least 50%. This is thought to be the reason why many early studies on HCA failed to produce significant weight loss results.
— Third, we can conclude that, based on at least three separate studies, HCA is most effective when bound with salt, creating HCA-SX. HCA-SX has been clinically shown to promote weight loss, better metabolism, and reduced appetite.
— Fourth, we can conclude that more research needs to be done on Garcinia cambogia before any of these benefits can be definitively proven true. The early evidence of favor of Garcinia cambogia is positive. In several studies, participants have lost a significant amount of weight while taking Garcinia cambogia extract while also experiencing powerful appetite suppression effects.
The good news is that the medical community is actively researching Garcinia cambogia. We should know more about this unique tropical plant in the near future.
Why Garcinia Cambogia Supplements Can Be Dangerous
Garcinia cambogia supplements can actually be dangerous. Today, there are hundreds of shady internet companies selling Garcinia cambogia extract online. The vast majority of these products are totally unregulated and have not been approved by any regulatory body in the world – like the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
One of the problems with the FDA is that it regulates foods and drugs. For some bizarre reason, the FDA has decided that “supplements” are neither foods nor drugs, so it chooses to ignore the supplement industry.
That’s why Americans can purchase virtually any supplement they want online. That’s also why buying supplements online can be so dangerous.
Garcinia cambogia supplements, in many cases, contain very little Garcinia cambogia. Instead, they contain trace amounts of G. cambogia extract along with high levels of caffeine and other filler ingredients.
Ultimately, pure Garcinia cambogia extract has demonstrated some surprising benefits in clinical testing. However, you need to be careful where you buy from and which manufacturers you work with.
It’s All About How You Take It
The information listed above isn’t designed to scare you away from Garcinia cambogia. It’s meant to educate you about one central concept:
The effectiveness of Garcinia cambogia depends entirely on how you take it.
In all of the successful clinical tests on Garcinia cambogia extract (HCA), participants were instructed to exercise and eat a healthy diet while restricting their caloric intake. Both the placebo groups and HCA groups in these studies lost weight, but the HCA groups consistently lost more weight and experienced powerful appetite suppression along with other health benefits.
This has led many to conclude that Garcinia cambogia is a powerful weight loss and appetite suppression tool, but it works especially well if you’re using Garcinia cambogia to complement an existing diet or exercise routine.
Will Garcinia cambogia help you lose weight without diet or exercise? Probably not.
But if you maintain a healthy diet and take the recommended dose of Garcinia cambogia per day, you may be able to lose more weight than someone who is eating the same diet and maintains the same exercise routine as you – at least according to current clinical studies.
How to Use Garcinia Cambogia
If you’re taking Garcinia cambogia for its weight loss benefits and appetite suppression effects, it’s recommended you find a Garcinia cambogia supplement with at least 50% hydroxycitric acid (HCA).
Typically, Garcinia cambogia comes in capsule form.
However, very recent (2013-2014) studies showed a link between the ingredient and several unhealthy conditions, including an odd build-up of fat in the liver.
When taking Garcinia cambogia capsules, you should take the capsules 30 to 60 minutes before each meal with a glass of water. The recommended dose is between 500mg to 1000mg, so you may need to take multiple capsules.
You should not eat or drink anything for 15 minutes after taking Garcinia cambogia in capsule form. This enhances bioavailability.
Repeat the above dose before every meal of the day.
You can also find Garcinia cambogia in liquid form. If you’re taking Garcinia cambogia as a liquid, you should place one serving under your tongue 10 minutes prior to eating a meal. Most Garcinia cambogia liquid supplements consider one serving to be 1ml, which works out to about 20 drops.
Just like with the capsule form, you should not eat or drink anything for 15 minutes after ingesting Garcinia cambogia in order to enhance bioavailability. You should also repeat the above dose before every meal of the day.
Garcinia Cambogia Side Effects
In clinical studies, Garcinia cambogia has proven to be a safe, well-tolerated oral supplement. Patients have exhibited no serious effects when taking Garcinia cambogia for up to 12 continuous weeks (which is the maximum length of studies performed so far).
Participants have reported some minor side effects from Garcinia cambogia, including nausea, digestive tract discomfort, and headaches.
If you’re experiencing painful side effects after ingesting Garcinia cambogia, then it’s probably not Garcinia cambogia that’s causing the problems. Instead, it’s the shady, low-quality pharmaceutical companies adding dangerous filler ingredients to their formulations.
Conclusion: Is Garcinia Cambogia Right for You?
Garcinia cambogia has an unfair reputation as a dietary supplement “scam”.
Unfortunately, that reputation comes from low-quality Garcinia cambogia extract manufacturers, many of which try to pass off dangerous caffeine-based formulations as some type of Garcinia cambogia extract.
In clinical settings, Garcinia cambogia has proven to be an effective weight loss and appetite suppression tool in at least three major studies. These studies relied on the active ingredient within Garcinia cambogia, hydroxycitric acid (HCA).
When you buy Garcinia cambogia extract supplements, pick a supplement with at least 50% HCA content. Buy from trusted manufacturers and trusted online sources.
Ultimately, the best Garcinia cambogia results have come from combining the supplement with diet and exercise.
Garcinia cambogia is not a miracle pill that will help you lose weight while eating pizza on the couch all day.
But when taken properly and intelligently, Garcinia cambogia and HCA can lead to some surprising weight loss results.

MegaHydrate is a supplement sold by Phi Sciences that promises to hydrate the body and improve one’s overall health by increasing the number of hydrogen ions in the body.
MegaHydrate advertisers itself as “antioxidant food” and there are supposedly a number of benefits to taking MegaHydrate on a daily basis.
Is MegaHydrate a legitimate product or just another supplement scam?
What is MegaHydrate?
MegaHydrate claims to be the “key that unlocks the potential of water as the medium for nutrient replenishment and waste removal at the cellular level.”
As confusing and as gibberish as that may seem, MegaHydrate essential adds hydrogen ions to your water, which enables the body to actually absorb the water you drink – instead of just flushing water out of the system.
According to Phi Sciences, MegaHydrate works to combat the body’s constant state of dehydration, which MegaHydrate also claims most humans are in most of the time.
In addition, MegaHydrate claims to fight the negative effects of alcohol, stress, and free radicals, all of which contribute to aging. This is because MegaHydrate is “the most powerful known antioxidant food.”
Claimed Benefits of MegaHydrate
According to Phi Sciences, there are several benefits to taking MegaHydrate on a daily basis. Some of the ways MegaHydrate may help improve health is by:
— Reducing Pain, Swelling, And Inflammation.
— Increasing Energy Levels (by Increasing ATP Production)
— Providing Essential Hydration For Your Overall Wellbeing
What Customers Say
Surprisingly, MegaHydrate has mostly positive reviews on Amazon from verified buyers. Most customers seem to experience numerous benefits while taking MegaHydrate and many customers have been purchasing MegaHydrate for years.
It seems like the most common benefit is by increased energy, although we’ve seen numerous customers say MegaHydrate has reduced joint pain, improved their digestion, or even led to weight loss.
Side Effects of MegaHydrate
Customers of MegaHydrate also claim there are no side effects, which we can confirm to be true – for the most part. Phi Sciences warns that MegaHydrate may cause you body to flush out “toxins, waste material, and other compounds” from your body, causing you to feel odd or worse than you normally would feel.
This feeling generally goes away after the first few days, but you should at least be aware that it could happen to you if you aren’t careful. However, other than feeling slightly off for the first few days, we have not found any severe side effects, nor does it appear that MegaHydrate is unsafe for long-term use.
How to Buy MegaHydrate
You can buy MegaHydrate directly from Phi Sciences, or on retailers like Amazon. The price varies depending on the retailer you choose, but we’ve found it priced directly on Phi Science’s website for this:
— MegaHydrate Individual Pack: $39.95
— MegaHydrate 5-Pack: $149.75
— MegaHydrate Powder: $80.00
We were unable to find any money back guarantee or return policy, nor could we find a full ingredient list in MegaHydrate. However, we do know that MegaHydrate contains silica hydride, and we think that is the main compound in MegaHydrate.
Is MegaHydrate Worth Buying?
This is an especially tough question to answer, especially because Phi Sciences gives us little information about how exactly their product works. We’re encouraged by the numerous positive testimonials we’ve found, but we still are given complex, seemingly gibberish information about how MegaHydrate works.
Still, if you can get past the confusing “science” behind MegaHydrate and focus solely on what users are actually experiencing, then MegaHydrate may be something you want to consider trying. We know that hydration is incredibly important, so perhaps Mega Hydrate is worth trying after all.
